The Speaker of Parliament Anita Among has threatened to start writing warning letters to legislators who continuously abscond from Parliament. In a terse statement yesterday, Among said it is “embarrassing and unfortunate to see that some legislators neither attend parliamentary sitting nor do they attend committee sittings.” Such legislators according to speaker are neither present in their constituencies of representation. She said she is going to start issuing warning letters to legislators who skip the House. Among also directed all legislators to start clocking in and out on the biometric system of Parliament and implored committee chairpersons to start registering all legislators that attend sittings Some MPs said the speaker’s move was ill advised while others welcomed it. Kenya Elections: Supreme court orders vote recount in several polling stations.

August 30, 2022 By Nation Times Reporter The Supreme Court has ordered a recount of presidential votes in 15 polling stations across the country. The exercise is scheduled to begin this afternoon at an undisclosed location and will take 48 hours to scrutinize the votes. The exercise is expected to end on Thursday at 2 pm and a report filed in court. Each party shall be represented by two agents during the exercises and they shall at times be under the supervision of the Registrar of the Supreme Court and her staff. The Registrar shall file her report by 5 pm on September 1, 2022, and avail copies to all parties. This may not be necessarily true as no study has been undertaken to prove it but neither can it be swept under the carpet! Fast forward, it is unethical, immoral & backward for one to celebrate the death of the other. This is because the dead even when condemned doesn't have the means to defend himself, even when you attack him, tomorrow you could follow and when you celebrate the dead you hurt the family & friends who were not party to his deeds while alive.
