Territorial police in Mityana have registered a case of suspected poisoning at Golden Learning Centre Nursery and Primary School on September 27, 2023. The incident, located in Namungo Central Village, Namungo Parish, Namungo Sub-county, Mityana District, involved pupils experiencing symptoms such as stomach ache, headache, and vomiting immediately after being served Posho and beans for lunch at 1400 hours. The Constitutional court has invalidated a parliamentary resolution that dismissed Mityana Municipality MP Francis Zaake from his position as a parliamentary commissioner. In a majority 4-1 decision, the court ruled that the then deputy speaker Anita Among, who presided over the matter violated the principles of natural justice by not recusing herself as the complainant. Justice Irene Mulyagonja, who delivered the lead judgment, stated, "The deputy speaker/Among ought to have resolved the question of her interest in the matter as soon as possible in the public interest as it is required by the code of conduct of members of parliament in the rules. Two students of Midland High School in Kaberamaido district died on the spot and 31 others are nursing critical injuries at Soroti regional referral hospital following a tragic accident involving a bus they were traveling in. The accident according to John Robert Tukei the acting East Kyoga police spokesperson,the crash occurred when a bus registration number UG 1951E belonging to Busitema University Arapai campus rammed in to a stationary trailer registration UBL 709T/UQ781C from behind . Police have exhumed for proper burial, the body of the school director who was killed in a guesthouse in Nansana. The body of Godwin Ninsiima, 47, the owner of Victoria Secondary School in Nansana who was killed early this month and body dumped in a bush under mysterious circumstances in Kakiri, 18 kilometres away was on Thursday exhumed after a DNA test matched with those of the relatives. The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has withdrawn charges of disobedience and common nuisance against Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
