A city businesswoman and widow has dragged Housing Finance Bank to court over fraudulent sale of her property at Kyadondo Road Nakasero in Kamapala. Ida May Kwesiga who owns Mayflower Apartments sitting on an acre of land at Nakasero has ran to land division of the high court in Kampala to sue Housing Finance Bank together with Balaji Group East Africa limited. The Family of East African University proprietor, Hassan Alwi, are said to have drowned in an accident on River Nile. According to a statement from Uganda Police, Hassan Alwi’s wife Super Shakirah, and one their daughters Amirror Alwi drowned when their boat experienced engine failure and sailed through spillways of River Nile. Although the police claim that Hassal Alwi drowned with the family, reports from different sources maintain that he is alive, and getting treatment for an injury on the head. Ugandans to Pay shs 240,500 For Covid-19 Testing.

Government has introduced a mandatory shs. 240,500 fees for Covid-19 testing services across the country, the Ministry of Health has announced. According to a statement seen by our reporter, the fees will serve as a cost recovery mechanism that will enable the Ministry of Health to acquire more test kits for continued access to testing services in the country. The health ministry’s Permanent Secretary Dr. Diana Atwine said in a statement that the charge will however be incurred by a certain group of individuals and companies. Shell’s grants to d.light, PowerGen, Husk Power Systems, Orb Energy and SolarNow will help their customers pay for electricity for up to six months, and contribute to the installation of solar power systems in hospitals and schools.
