Somalia President Hassan to visit Uganda.

The President of Somalia Hassan Shiekh Mohamud is set to visit Uganda in his first trip since he assumed office in May this year. He will be in the country next week Monday for a two day working visit with his counterpart President Yoweri Museveni. The two heads of state will preside over a joint investment and business summit that will run from August 9 to 10 at Speke Resort Munyonyo in Kampala. Police hands over bodies of Mbale flood victims to relatives for burial.

Police in Elgon in Mbale district have released the bodies of the victims who died in the July 30th floods to their respective relatives for proper burial after postmortem. The floods which affected the people at the slopes of Mt Elgon were caused by the outburst of river Nabuyonga. At least 29 people were confirmed dead and their bodies were retrieved and taken for postmortem. On Wednesday, the regional police released the names of the deceased, how the victims died and where they will be buried. From the list, police said that they retrieved the body of Lukia Khalayi,a female juvenile who has been a P7 Pupil and Barbra Khalayi, P3 both daughters to a one Sam Simiyu at North Road P/S – Mbale City. President Yoweri Museveni has appointed Brig. David Mugisha as the new commander of the Special Forces Command (SFC), unit of the UPDF responsible for guarding the president and members of the first family. Brig. Mugisha who has been the deputy commander of the UPDF third division based in Moroto has replaced Brig Felix Busizoori who has swapped position with Mugisha in Moroto.
