Shock and grief has engulfed the residents of Bwetyaba Village, Bukoloto Parish in Kayunga district as a 27 year old mother identified as Slyvia Nakato and her two children six and two years old were found hanging dead in their house.

In a letter dated December 23 and signed by Suzan Wegoye, the Commission Secretary/Director Legal Affairs at the Uganda Communications Commission, says it is implementing a directive recently issued by President Museveni on November 15.

The Tokyo 2020 Olympics gold medalists Joshua Cheptegei and Peruth Chemutai have been promoted by The Inspector General of Police, Martins Okoth-Ochola, Cheptegei has been promoted from Inspector of Police (IP) to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) while Chemutai who was first regraded from Special Police Constable (SPC) to Constable has been promoted to Inspector of Police (IP).
Cheptegei won a gold medal in the 5000m race while Chemutai scooped gold in 3000m steeplechase. Ochola in his message to the newly-promoted police athletes said it was an honour to celebrate the success, jubilation the team brought to the country.
Ochola said police management organised the event to celebrate the outstanding achievement that brought the country together at the time it was needed.

Son of Uganda's president and People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) Land Forces Commander Lt. Gen Kainerugaba Muhoozi, is dismayed with some elders who have not been supportive to him.
In a Twitter post, he says in his military career, some officers have instead been fighting him instead of offering him support. He described the situation as a backward culture.
“In my military career I have faced the most resistance from some of my elders. People who should have been supporting me, were fighting me all the time. I can only describe that as backward culture”, part of Muhoozi’s tweet read.
