Children of the recently deceased, Gen Elly Tumwiine, have begged the general public to pardon their father for any wrongs he had done during his time alive.
“For all those he wronged, we ask for forgiveness,” one of Gen Tumwine’s children Cynthia Tumwine spoke on behalf of the children on Sunday.
The children were addressing mourners at the home of the deceased on Sunday night where they asked for a clean slate for the deceased General in the public eye as he faces the afterlife.
“While in hospital in Nairobi and while we were praying, one of the things we were convicted about was to seek forgiveness on his behalf. To ask God to forgive him for everything he did either knowingly or unknowingly. We seek forgiveness so that he is on a clean slate,” Cynthia Tumwine implored mourners.
President Museveni has described as naysayers who are wasting their time, members of the public who are insulting former Security Minister and NRA bush war hero, Gen Elly Tumwine who died last week.
Speaking while eulogizing Gen Tumwine at Kololo independence grounds on Monday, Museveni, who led the five year NRA war described the deceased as a patriot.

Ugandan media personality Flavia Tumusiime has announced quitting 91.3 Capital FM radio.
She made an announcement on Tuesday morning through her socials.
“Tomorrow 31st August will be my final show at CAPITAL FM for the mid-morning show. Its been a life and career-changing experience for me since 2006,” she posted on Facebook.
“The time has come again for me to stretch my potential and see what else I can become.”
Tumusiime lauded Capital FM saying that it took a teenager with excitement and passion and empowered her to be the best.
“Allow the humble brag that we pulled the best English midmorning show in the country consistently all these years. Bravo!”
