A 28 year old Ugandan pastor Joseph Collins Twahirwa who is accused of raping a 36 year old Lativian tourist has been further remanded to Luzira prison as investigations continue. Joseph Collins Twahirwa commonly known as Daddy Collins is the Arch pastor at Epikaizo Ministries International in Bugoloobi has been sent back to prison by Nakawa Magistrate Court until 16th February 2023. Last week, the Uganda National Examinations Board released PLE results for the year 2022 where 832,654 sat for the exams. Whereas the population is excited about the performance of their children, there is a latent issue that we all seem to have swept under the carpet which in my view needs urgent attention. According to Uganda Bureau of Statistics (2021), the enrolment in primary one in the year 2016, stood at 1,888,847 pupils. It is this class that is expected to have sat PLE last year 2022 and that implies that over one million pupils who joined Primary One didn’t seat for PLE last year. Two youths were arrested in Ddandira village in Mukono municipality this morning with more than 10 stolen pigs. The robbery took place at Seeta Nazigo in Nakisunga Sub county in the wee hours.
