So Sad: Catholic Church Closes Parish After Popular Priest Dies Of COVID-19

Fr. Irenaeus Karenzi, who was attached to Archdiocese of Mbarara, passed away over the weekend at Holy Innocents Children Hospital in Nyamitanga Mbarara, after he developed breathing  complications, a severe flu, cough and headache. Rumours in the public domain alleged that the priest had died of COVID-19 but the diocese had since denied the claims saying they were still waiting for a postmortem report about the cause of the death, which has since confirmed that he died of COVID-19. The National Resistance Movement (NRM) party has forced blogger Isma Olaxes to make a public apology after he was captured making ‘reckless” comments following the recent riots. The Lord Mayor of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) is not suffering from Covid-19 as was earlier presumed—by some people.
