Police in Mukono has launched a search for two suspects who brutally gang raped a 24 year old woman after promising her a job. The suspects identified as Tony Eleti and other only identified as Arthur allegedly enticed the victim from Libu island on August 8, promising her a job as a fuel pump attendant at one of the petrol stations in Mukono town. According to the police, Eleti gave the victim a telephone number 0751264260 to call which allegedly belonged to a one Arthur who immediately offered the job at shs 250,000 per month and asked her to come and meet him in Mukono. The Uganda National Examinations Board-UNEB has ordered all primary and secondary schools to display a register of candidates who are going to sit for this year’s national examinations. In a letter addressed to headteachers, UNEB Executive Director Dan Odong noted that this activity should be carried out effective August 13. “The register should be displayed in a conspicuous place at the school notice board to enable candidates to review and confirm their status of registration as well as their bio-data,” the letter dated August 11th reads in part. Eddie Kwizera Wagahungu has been declared the winner of the the Bukimbiri constituency by-election with 12,214 votes. Independent candidate Asgario Turyagyenda came a close second polling 10,105 votes. Edward Mutabaazi, an independent candidate, got 308 votes and Forum for Democratic Change’s, James Owebeyi got 208. The results were declared by Kisoro district returning officer Dan Nayebare at Hope Mission tally centre in Rubuguri town council. NRM leaning candidate Turyagyenda has, however, already protested the results.
