Kayunga District RDC, Hajji Nsereko Mutumba has passed on at Rubaga Hospital.
Mutumba also previously held the position of the spokesperson of the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council which he left in 2020 when his contract expired.
The cleric’s cause of death has not yet been revealed.
Just about a week ago, Mutumba attended a one week RDC retreat which was held in Kyankwanzi.
Those who interacted with him at the close of this event on July 31st say he was vibrant and full of energy.
He has been an RDC since March earlier this year.
Makerere University Vice Chancellor Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe, has suspended Sulaiman Namwoza, a third-year student pursuing Bachelors of Medicine over alleged indiscipline.

This activity, which preceded the Kawempe Fortebet-Alex Muhangi soccer tour was led by the company brand ambassador, Alex Muhangi together with the company media relations manager, John Nanyumba and they were received by facility in-charge, Hellen Nakandi.

Security was tight at the district headquarters in Kisoro as the Kisoro Electoral Commission finalized the nomination of candidates for the Bukimbiri constituency.
Among the five nominated candidates are Eddie Kwizera NRM, James Owebeyi FDC, Jousua Mutabazi NUP, Edward Mutaabazi IND and Asigalirwe Turyagyenda IND.
