Justice Henry Kaweesa Isabirye a Judge presiding over Mukono High Court criminal session has accepted video evidence and telephone recordings presented by the prosecution where Matthew Kirabo Erlier accepted the offense of murdering his girlfriend Desire Mirembe a former Makerere medical student. During the court session on Tuesday, the State attorney Happiness Ainebyona presented footage clip recorded during interrogation conducted by Dominic Manyi the lead investigating officer at Lugazi Central Police Station. At least one person died and several have been wounded in an explosion on a bus near Kampala, police said, two days after a deadly attack in the Ugandan capital claimed by ISIL (ISIS). Ugandan police spokesman Fred Enanga said bomb specialists were sent to Lungala following a deadly explosion in a bus belonging to Swift Safaris around 5pm on Monday. The Ugandan Police force issued a correction saying that one person had been killed in the attack, after Enanga said in a statement that two people had died. Islamic State claimed responsibility for a bomb attack that killed at least one person in Uganda's capital Kampala on Saturday night, the militant group said in a statement posted in an affiliated Telegram channel late on Sunday. The group said that some of its members detonated an explosive device in a bar where "members and spies of the Crusader Ugandan government were gathering" in Kampala. The bomb, packed with nails and shrapnel, targeted a pork restaurant on the outskirts of the capital, police said on Sunday. Uganda has kickstarted a trial for the injectable HIV drugs cabotegravir and rilpivirine. Researchers and those living with HIV say the trial will likely end pill fatigue, fight stigma, improve adherence and ensure patients get the right dosage. The two drugs have been in use as tablets. The World Health Organization last year licensed their use as injectables. While the two injectables already went through trials in Europe and North America, this will be the first time they are tested in an African population for efficacy and safety in an African health care system.
