Doctors categorized as medical officers special grade or Associate Consultants announced on Tuesday that they have joined ongoing industrial action in which Senior House Officers had laid down tools over non-payment of their salaries. The doctors told a press Conference held in Mulago this morning that their strike would start at 11 pm. Dr Joy Kimera, a Pediatrician who spoke on their behalf says while associate consultants supervise interns in hospitals, their salaries were not enhanced and there’s no clear process through which one gets promoted to the position. Deceased State Minister for Labor Charles Okello Engola’s body was found with 28 bullets after he was shot dead by his former bodyguard Private Wilson Sabiiti who also took his own life after the sad incident. This has been confirmed by his brother Sam Engola who is also the State Minister for Housing saying he rushed to the scene in Kyanja shortly after his brother was shot. Sam Engola wondered what kind of motive Sabiiti had, after seeing the bullet-riddled body. “Okello (Engola) had 28 bullets on his body, every part of him had a bullet wound, when you see the body you wonder what this man Sabiiti was up to,” he said. Father of the late Ibrahim Tusubira Lubega alias Isma Olaxes, Hajji Muhammad Kasagga Mutabliiki, has revealed that he will not go to the police to give a statement in order to get his son’s belongings. Hajji Kasagga says that Isma’s house is open and that the police refused to let them remove his belongings. “The house where Isma was staying in Kyanja, was found open. But the Police denied us access claiming it’s a crime scene and I had to make a statement before entering it,” Hajji Kasagga said. Sports, Marketer, PR and Communications enthusiast, Aldrine Nsubuga has said he spoke to vlogger Ibrahim Tusubira alias Isma Olaxes aka Jajja Iculi 24 hours to his demise. Olaxes was murdered by an assassin on Saturday evening near his residence in Kyanja. He was buried on Sunday at his ancestral home in Buikwe district. Judiciary has come out to clear the air about last week’s Constitutional Court repealed the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Control) Act, 2015 which among others prohibited the sale and use of several narcotic drugs in the country. In a statement released on Tuesday, the Judiciary dismissed as untrue, claims that the court legalized marijuana with this decision. “This is to clarify that that is not the correct interpretation of the decision of the Constitutional Court. For now, it should be known that the Constitutional Court did not and has never legalized the use of the restricted drugs and/or substances under the impugned law,” the Judiciary said in a statement.
