Police in Kyotera is hunting for a one Namubiru Jackie, a resident of Lwanzi “B” cell, Mutukula Town Council in Kyotera district, for the brutal attack on her co-wife Nakimera Lydia, aged 23, a salon owner. The incident happened on April 20 at around 4pm. The suspect injected the victim with a syringe, containing suspected poisonous substances. According to the police, she was rushed to Bulamu clinic and was later transferred to Byansi’s clinic in Masaka City in critical condition. The victim died from the poisonous substance on April 23 at around 6:30pm. Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) deputy spokesperson, Lt Col Deo Akiiki has refuted allegations that Private Wilson Sabiti (deceased) shot Minister for Labour, Employment and Industrial Relations, Col (rtd) Charles Engola dead because of not being paid his salary. Engola was shot dead on Tuesday at his home in Kyanja. Heavy rain that triggered flooding and landslides in western Rwanda has killed at least 95 people, a senior government official said on Wednesday, as authorities search for others trapped in their homes. The tragedy happened on Thursday afternoon when lightning struck the chapel of St. Peter’s Church Agober. Agnes Otembi, the wife of catechist Julius Otembi, was inside the facility and is believed to have died instantly from the hit. The lighting also struck the electricity connection in the priest’s house. Violent winds deroofed part of the chapel and uprooted cassava in a nearby garden.
