Police have kicked off investigations into circumstances under which unknown assailants attacked the home of former Traffic Police spokesperson, ASP Faridah Nampiima and killed her guard. Revellers at Paradise Hall in Arua city, northern Uganda became unruly when the advertised performance by Kampala-based Afro-beat artist David Lutalo did not materialize. To disperse the crowd, the police had to use bullets. The call made by Mr Marvin Ayebare, the publicity secretary of the association of used car importers in Uganda came at a time when Be Forward, a Japanese car exporter compensated 53 clients who were defrauded by one of their former agents, Steel Logistics Nagoya in November last year. Constable Ivan Wabwire, who is accused of killing an Indian money lender, was arrested by the Police Flying Squad on Sunday. On Friday, Wabwire was captured on CCTV shooting and killing Uttam Bhandari after getting into an apparent argument with him. Wabwire shot him several times until he assured him he was dead. Uganda’s third deputy Prime Minister has today witnessed the start of DigiTruck trainings in Busoga region in Jinja and also flagged off 17 students and their instructors to attend the Huawei global ICT Competitions in Shenzhen China.
