President Yoweri Museveni, the Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces has made some changes in the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF).
Among the changes announced by the army spokesperson Brig Gen Felix Kulaigye, former military police commander Maj Gen Don Williams Nabasa appointed 3rd Infantry Division Commander.
Brig Gen James Kinalwa has been appointed Chief of Personnel & Administration while Brig Gen Eugene Ssenkumba is the new head of the National Emergency coord Centre (OPM).
In other changes, Brig Gen William Beinomugisha is the new Commander of Military Police while Brig Gen Micheal Kabango has been appointed 4th Infantry Division Commander.
Additionally, Brig Gen Keith Katungi has been appointed 5th Infantry Commander.
Police in Kampala have divulged fresh details over the death of social media Vlogger Isma Ibrahim Tusubira alias Olaxess alias Jajja Iculi.
Jajja Ichuli was killed in cold blood by unknown killers at the gate of his home located in Kyanja, Kawempe Division on Saturday at 9:20 pm. His assassins fired several bullets at him as he occupied the co-driver’s his car awaiting the opening of the gate.
The two criminals reportedly checked to confirm he was dead, before escaping the scene to the main road where they boarded a motorcycle.
His driver identified as Mathias Wasswa who escaped death with no scratch quickly run to the nearest police station and alerted police. Police sent forensic teams to the scene to collect evidence as other detectives used sniffer dogs to trace the unknown assassins.

Olaxes was murdered on Saturday evening near his residence in Kyanja.
Speaking on the incident in a tweet Monday, the President condemned the incident describing killers as pigs.
”Condolences on the death of the blogger, Ibrahim Tusubira aka Isma Ichuli. I condemn and treat with contempt the killing of this Ugandan by some pigs,” he said.
According to the President, ”It is pigs that believe in using guns against unarmed opponents.”
”NRM enjoys defeating unarmed opponents with counter- arguments.”
The President explains that ”Killing critics shows that your position is false and you cannot out- argue an opponent.”

Top artistes in Uganda have formed a new musician association, the Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF), a move which leaves, the Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) headed by singer Cindy Sanyu in a difficult time.

Investigators have started scratching their heads to get details of the the person said to have called blogger and social media critic, Ibrahim Tusuubira also known as Isma Olaxess and Jajja Iculi shortly before he was shot dead near his home in Kyanja.
According to police spokesperson, investigations have indicated that the deceased on the fateful day played football in Munyonyo before he left and used the Entebbe Expressway and later had diner at Nyakaana bar in Mutungo where he left at around 8:15pm for his home in Kyanja.

Entebbe International Airport has experienced a notable increase in passenger traffic, according to the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA). In April 2023, the airport welcomed a total of 127,283 passengers, averaging around 4,242 passengers per day.
This figure represents a growth compared to April 2022, which saw 122,341 passengers, averaging around 4,078 passengers per day.

At least 22 people died when a double-decker tourist boat capsized in India's southern state of Kerala, officials said Monday.
The incident happened late Sunday in Tanur, a coastal town in Kerala's Malappuram district. Rescue operations were ongoing.
Dozens of people searched for survivors in and around the stricken vessel during the night, which was partially submerged. Some used ropes to stabilize the vessel while others were in the water, looking inside the boat's windows.
"We have recovered 22 bodies, including 15 females and seven males. There are around six people in the hospital. Rescue operations are on," a police officer from Tanur police station told AFP.
