The Chief Magistrate’s Court in Kanungu had ordered a woman who refused to marry a man who had paid her school fees, to refund Shs9.4 million spent on her. In 2015, Fortunate Kyarikunda, a teacher who had come to the same school for teaching practice, was introduced to Richard Tumwine, according to court documents. The two eventually fell in love. The two eventually made a commitment to getting married in 2018, and Tumwine promised to pay for the defendant’s Sh9.4 million-costly studies at the Law Development Center. Leaders in Mukono district have cautioned the contractor Al- Mubarak Contractors Limited who has been awarded the repair works of the Nkoko bridge on River Ssezibwa in Kasawo Sub County, Mukono district against doing shoddy works. The warning follows a handover of unstandardized work by a contractor of the fish house constructed in Kame valley market in Mukono municipality. Civil Society Organisations (CSO) have expressed concern over the country’s ever increasing public debt which has currently reached Shs. 80 trillion. Two brothers have been shot dead in Moroto town last night. The incident took place at Kakoliye Close 4 at around 10pm in Moroto district. The Speaker of Parliament Anita Among has revealed that the Parliamentary Committee on Commissions, State Authorities and State Enterprises has been the worst accountability committee in the House. “It’s you people (COSASE) who have failed.
