Police in Nigeria arrested a 17-year-old boy, Noble Uzuchi, for allegedly impregnating 10 ladies while working for a baby factory. According to different Nigerian news websites, Uzuchi and others still at large were hired by the baby company to have marathon sex with the girls and impregnate them. Reports indicate that the victims were being paid N500,000 (about Shs4 million) after delivery, and then the company would keep the child. The babies would then be sold, according to reports. “All the victims confessed that they were lured to the illicit sale of children because of the need to meet some financial challenges,” the Nigerian police are quoted as saying.

The exercise will be conducted under the auspices of the Manifesto Implementation Unit (MIU) of the Office of the President. Amidst budget cuts, the State House requires Sh21.9 billion to procure new motorcades for President Yoweri Museveni and Vice President Jessica Alupo in the 2023–24 financial year. While presenting their budget before parliament’s budget committee, the State House revealed that money for purchasing the new presidential motorcade was budgeted for in the 2022–23 financial year, but it has not been provided for by the ministry of finance. According to the State House, only Shs21.7 billion is available for the repair of the presidential jet, and helicopters. Nakasero State Lodge and 23 upcountry State Lodges will be renovated for the same Sh21.7 billion. State House will also procure new security and ICT equipment and purchase new furniture.
