The Speaker of Parliament Anita Among has revealed that the Parliamentary Committee on Commissions, State Authorities and State Enterprises has been the worst accountability committee in the House.
“It’s you people (COSASE) who have failed. We have invested a lot of money in the committee but we have not got results,” calling for an audit into the performance of the committee.
According to Among, out of the 111 reports that were supposed to be produced by COSASE, only 4 have been presented before the House making it the worst performing committee in the House.
She said Parliament invested a lot of money in the committee but it has not got results because the House had six months to consider and pronounce itself on the reports. She the six months have passed but the reports are not ready.
They threaten civil and criminal action if the money is not returned within 10 days.
Lawyers for Usain Bolt, one of the world’s greatest sprinters, said Wednesday that more than $12.7 million is missing from his account with a private investment firm in Jamaica that authorities are investigating.
Attorney Linton P. Gordon provided The Associated Press with a copy of a letter sent to Stocks & Securities Limited demanding that the money be returned.
Gordon said Bolt’s account once had $12.8 million but now reflects a balance of only $12,000.

Ugandan pastor Joseph Collins Twahirwa of Epikaizo Ministries International in Bugoloobi has been remanded to Luzira prison on charges of raping a Latvian female tourist.
After being frustrated by police at both Jinja Road and the CID, 36-year-old Latvian tourist Saulite Anda’s pliht was made public by a local newspaper.
The court has been told that Collins, who works as both a pastor and a lawyer, had sex with Anda against her will on December 12, 2022, at his home in Munyonyo Zone in Kampala.
In her testimony at CID, Anda claimed that Collins had invited her to Uganda after they had met through TikTok.
She was picked up by Collins’ security team on December 11, 2022, but instead of taking her to a reserved apartment at Makindye, they took her to her tormentor’s house in Munyonyo.
