Following the circulation of images and a video alleging that a woman had locked up her boyfriend and her cousin sister in her apartment bedroom before setting it on fire, Ugandans on social media over the weekend were put into a depressing mood. Arinda Patricia, 24, and a man only known as Kajumba, 27, were named as the two victims. Arinda and Kajumba were allegedly invited to a ‘non-existent’ birthday party in Kawempe. According to reports, Kaitesi reportedly sprinted out of the apartment and yelled out to his neighbors, saying the gas cooker had exploded. Unidentified gunmen suspected to be bandits riding on motorcycles have, on Sunday, attacked New Life for All Church in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State, kidnapping over 25 worshippers. This was disclosed by the Senior Special Assistant on Christian Affairs to Governor Aminu Bello Masari, Rev. Ishaya Jurau, in a telephone interview with DAILY POST on Sunday. According to him, bandits attacked the church in Jan-Tsauni, Gidan Haruna at about 10 am. “They abducted over 25 worshippers and left the church pastor with various degrees of injuries while they were conducting service this morning,” he said. Details of the incident are still sketchy.
