Over 100 residents across five villages in Bukomansimbi District have been left homeless following a heavy downpour. The affected villages include Kyanakibi, Kabulunga, Kyango, Bukomansimbi town council, and Gayaza. The rains started at 9:00 pm and lasted for approximately 20 minutes, wreaking havoc on the communities. The heavy rains not only lifted the roofs of homes but also destroyed plantations. As the affected residents grapple with the aftermath of this disaster, local authorities are calling upon the government to provide immediate assistance and relief to those in need.

Busoga Kingdom has confirmed Queen Jovia Mutesi after successful traditional ceremonies. According to a statement from the office of the Kingdom’s Prime Minister, the royal wedding of the Kyabazinga of Busoga, William Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope IV with Queen Mutesi is scheduled for November 18, 2023, at Christ Cathedral in Jinja City. Last week the Uganda Police Force foiled numerous attempts of bomb attacks in different parts of the city with a 28-year-old man detained suspected of having entered Miracle Centre Cathedral in Rubaga with an Improvised Explosive Device (IED).
