Four people have been confirmed dead and 18 were injured after a truck carrying vendors crashed into a building in Gulu town. Traffic Directorate Spokesperson ASP Faridah Nampiima said the accident occurred along Opwonya-Walter Road at around 9:30pm on Monday. “The accident involved a truck registration number UBF 743B (Canter) that was carrying vendors from the market. It lost control and knocked a building killing four people on spot,” Nampiima said in a statement Tuesday morning. According to the statement, the injured people were rushed to Gulu Referral Hospital for first-aid treatment. Police are yet to identify the dead and their bodies are also at Gulu Regional Referral Hospital for postmortem examination.
