
3 arrested over selling rotting meat in Fort Portal.
Three people have been arrested in Fort Portal after being allegedly selling rotting meat in Fortportal.
The suspects identified as Majid Musisi, Clovis Isingoma and Bashir Rajab were red handedly found selling over 40 kilograms of decomposing meat to residents.
Dr. Stanley Businge, the Fort Portal city veterinary officer who also doubles as the city production officer, captured the suspects on Tuesday evening while carrying out an inspection.
Businge said that he found the suspects selling the rotten meat from wooden boxes in an isolated bushy area behind Mpanga market. He noted that rotten meat is unfit for human consumption and can result in disease-causing infections when consumed.
