Buganda royals want contributions of Sekabaka Nuhu Kalema recognized.

A group of Buganda royals from the lineage of Nuhu Rashid Sekabaka Kalema led by Sheikhat Radhiyaah Namakula, the secretary for Women and Youth affairs at Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) have noted with concern that the early part of Muslim history in Buganda especially the contribution of Sekabaka was erased from historical records. Kalema was the only Muslim monarch who reigned over Buganda Kingdom. He reigned between 1888 and 1890. Minister Amongi meets Teso leaders over leadership impasse.

The Minister for Gender, Labour and Social Development, Hon. Amongi Betty Ongom has commenced a meeting convened to resolve the leadership impasse within the Iteso Cultural Union. The meeting is a result of an Order issued by the High Court in Soroti on 10th October 2022, which directed for mediation of the conflict that has left the cultural institution without a head. Two factions have thus far claimed leadership of the Union, with one side headed by Mr. Paul Sande Emolot and another by Mr. Alloch William Akoll. The Minister will be reporting back to Court resolutions of today’s meeting. In attendance is also the Minister of State for Gender and Culture Affairs, Hon. Mutuuzo Peace Regis and the Minister of State for Disability Affairs, Hon. Asamo Hellen Grace.

Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has said no one will ban him from social media especially twitter, saying that he is an adult of sound mind who understands what he always tweets about. In an interview with NBS this week, President Museveni publicly warned the first son about the use of social media, ordering him to stop making political statements on social media, particularly on twitter.
