UPDF, Uganda Media Center Mourn Col. Bantariza’s Demise

By Our Reporter The Uganda Peoples Defence Forces (UPDF), the Uganda Media Centre and all Ugandans at large are mourning the untimely demise of Rtd. Col. Shaban Bantariza, who  died on Tuesday morning at Mulago Referral Hospital. Although the actual cause of his death is not yet confirmed by family members, some say he died of COVID-19 while others contend that he succumbed to hypertension. Col. Bantariza, who was the deputy Executive Director of the Uganda Media Centre and deputy government Spokesperson, will be missed by many whose lives he touched directly or directly and many Ugandans have since sent in their condolences to his family. UPDF Driver Knocks Boda-boda Rider Dead

By Our Reporter The police in Wandegeya are hunting for a reckless driver belonging to the Uganda Peoples Defence Forces (UPDF) who allegedly knocked dead a boda-boda rider in Nakulabye, Kampala, on Monday afternoon. According to eyewitnesses, the yet be identified boda-boda rider was knocked dead around Chez Johnson Hotel as he rode to Nakulabye from Wandegeya side. He collided head-on with the UPDF truck registration number H4DF 2082, which was being driven by a yet to be identified driver, who however fled from the scene shortly after causing the  accident. By Keefa Nuwahereza The Uganda Peoples Defence Forces (UPDF) has finally spoken out about the Prison break at Singila Government Prison in Moroto District that happened on Wednesday, reassuring Ugandans to remain calm because all the escapees will be arrested. A total of 219 prisoners escaped from Singila prisons with guns and fled into Mt. Moroto, prompting a joint force of UPDF, Uganda Prisons Services and Uganda police to pursue them. Corporal CPL Max Omutoojo, attached to the UPDF Airforce wing in Nakasongola District, was on Tuesday arraigned  before the General Court Martial sitting at Makindye and charged with murder of his senior officer, Major Sulaiman Wafula.
