By Our Reporter The World Health Organization (WHO) has said that it has named an independent team to investigate allegations of sexual abuse by aid workers in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Officials from the WHO said on Thursday that they were setting up a seven-person independent commission to investigate claims of sexual exploitation and abuse by aid workers during the recent Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). In an investigation published last month by the Thomson Reuters Foundation and The New Humanitarian, more than 50 women accused aid workers from the WHO and leading charities of demanding sex in exchange for jobs during the 2018-2020 crisis. Jepchirchir lowered her mark by 18 seconds, clocking 1:05:16 to win by two seconds over German Melat Kejeta. On Sept. 5, Jepchirchir, 27, took 37 seconds off Ethiopian Netsanet Gudeta‘s mark from 2018. The top six women on Saturday all went faster than Gudeta’s old world record.
