By Keefa Nuwahereza Veteran Uganda Peoples Defence Forces (UPDF) General Caleb Ankandwanaho aka Salim Saleh has refuted allegations that he was behind the demolition of St. Peter’s Church Ndeeba, which occurred early this week. Gen. Saleh revealed this on Wednesday August 12, 2020, during a meeting with several bishops and religious leaders from the Church of Uganda. This was presented as a big event. The MPs from NRM are nonentities whose names no one I have met can remember. Only Latif Sebagala from DP has some gravitas. It has since received a couple of other nonentities joining the new party. Yet for all the hype, NUP seems to me to be a stillbirth. Bloodshed: Scores Killed In Sudan Tribal Clashes

By Our Reporter At least 25 people have been killed in clashes between ethnic groups in a port city in eastern Sudan, according to a doctors' association. The Central Doctors' Committee said in a statement on Wednesday that about 90 others were wounded in the fighting that began on Sunday between members of the Bani Amer and Nuba ethnic groups in Port Sudan, a key international trade harbour on the Red Sea. Local media reported that several houses and shops were set on fire in the violence. "This is not the first time that clashes have broken out between the Bani Aarem and Nuba tribes," said Hiba Morgan, reporting from Khartoum. The Eastern and Southern African Trade and Development Bank (TDB) SME Programme announced the signing of an initial 4-year senior/ mezzanine debt facility of $1 million to be managed by Grassroots Business Fund (GBF), to finance agribusiness SMEs in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. The facility will focus on women or youth-led missing middle SMEs operating in the agricultural sector with solid managerial foundations and high potential for social impact. The transaction is enhanced with a partial risk guarantee from the African Guarantee Fund (AGF) of 50% with up to 75% in the case of women-led SMEs.
