Museveni Brother Sodo Declared Mawogola NRM Flagbearer Amidst Tension

By Our Reporter President Yoweri Museveni’s younger brother Godfrey Aine Kaguta aka Sodo was Wednesday evening declared the Mawogola North National Resistance Movement (NRM) flagbearer for the 2021 general election. Aine was announced  winner of the NRM primaries following a stiff competition with Foreign Affairs Minister Sam Kutesa’s daughter Shartsi Musherure Kutesa, in which he polled 17,775 representing 46.3% while Musherure got 16,155 votes (42.17%) and  Salim Kiseka scored 4,415 votes. Our sources reveal that results so far tallied show that Kateshumbwa aka Katesh has scored 6248 votes from 54 cells out of the total 228, while his opponent Dr Elioda Tumwesigye is trailing with 2764 votes (28%) and the other two contestants are sharing 8%. By Keefa Nuwahereza Dr. Tanga Odoi, the Chairperson of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Electoral Commission has Friday afternoon suspended the NRM primaries elections in Bukono Constituency, Namutumba District after an agent of Persis Namuganza, the state minister for  lands, was killed. Persis Namuganza faces stiff competition from Emmanuel Katoko, the current Speaker of Namutumba District and brother of State Minister for Agriculture Hon. Aggrey Bagiire.
