Dr. Tanga Odoi, the Chairperson of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Electoral Commission has Friday afternoon suspended the NRM primaries elections in Bukono Constituency, Namutumba District after an agent of Persis Namuganza, the state minister for lands, was killed.

Shortly after the incident, Dr Tanga Odoi announced that he had suspended the elections to pave way for investigations into the murder, although he did not reveal details of the deceased.
“I have suspended elections in Bukono constituency because Hon. Persis Namuganza’s agent was killed this morning. We have sent police to arrest anyone connected to that killing,” – Dr. Tanga Odoi said.
