The Uganda Police have announced that starting Monday October 12th, 2020, they will resume staging checkpoints along various designated spots, after observing that motorists are flouting curfew regulations.

This was revealed by the police spokesperson SP Patrick Onyango, who warned all motorists across the country to be alert and mind the time they return home.

“Tonight, we are re-instating all curfew check points. Vehicles will be stopped at 2100hrs. We are witnessing people starting to violate the curfew hours. Today, plan your journey early,” Onyango tweeted Monday.

It should be noted that while lifting  the curfew on public transport and private  vehicles in a bid to lift the COVID-19 lockdown, President Yoweri Museveni issued a directive to the effect that curfew  for all motor vehicles will start at 9:00Pm and end at 6:00Am, while boda-bodas would stop moving at 6:00Pm.

However, according to the police many motorist of both private and public transport vehicles have since flouted the curfew hours by driving beyond the designated hours.
