Mbarara City North MP, MP Robert Mwesigwa Rukaari has written to the State House Anti-Corruption Unit protesting the manner he was arrested a few weeks ago and remanded to Luzira over a debt. Residents in Masaka district are living in fear after a well-known volunteer security officer identified as Bashir Matovu was hacked to death near his home. Matovu, a resident of Bisanje West village in Kimanya Kabonera division, Masaka City had left his home at about 6:30pm when he was attacked by machete welding assailants. He was then found dead, lying in a pool of blood, hours later. The deceased’s wife Maria Nalusiba said that she had not seen him since about 6pm that evening nor heard back from him. Unidentified gunmen suspected to be bandits riding on motorcycles have, on Sunday, attacked New Life for All Church in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State, kidnapping over 25 worshippers. This was disclosed by the Senior Special Assistant on Christian Affairs to Governor Aminu Bello Masari, Rev. Ishaya Jurau, in a telephone interview with DAILY POST on Sunday. According to him, bandits attacked the church in Jan-Tsauni, Gidan Haruna at about 10 am. “They abducted over 25 worshippers and left the church pastor with various degrees of injuries while they were conducting service this morning,” he said. Police in Nigeria arrested a 17-year-old boy, Noble Uzuchi, for allegedly impregnating 10 ladies while working for a baby factory. According to different Nigerian news websites, Uzuchi and others still at large were hired by the baby company to have marathon sex with the girls and impregnate them. Reports indicate that the victims were being paid N500,000 (about Shs4 million) after delivery, and then the company would keep the child. The babies would then be sold, according to reports. “All the victims confessed that they were lured to the illicit sale of children because of the need to meet some financial challenges,” the Nigerian police are quoted as saying.
