Fear As Uganda’s COVID-19 Deaths Shoot To 32, With 2,972 Cases Of Infection

There is untold fear and tension in Uganda as Coronavirus (COVID-19) deaths keep skyrocketing after the Ministry of Health announced that they are so far registered 32 casualties.

The fatalities are both Ugandan nationals who were residents of Kampala.

Officials from the Ministry revealed that results of COVID-19 tests done on 30 August 2020 confirmed 44 new cases , bring the cumulative confirmed cases of Ugandans to 2,972.

According to the Ministry, the 44 new cases include 42 alerts and contacts; Kampala- 31 Wakiso-5, Kitgum-2,  Arua-2, Gulu-1, Tororo-1.

They also include one (1) returnee from the United Arab Emirates and a truck driver who arrived via Malaba.

Besides the confirmed cases of infection amongst Ugandans, the Ministry also revealed that four (4) foreign truck drivers (3 Kenyans and 1 Burundian) tested positive for COVID-19 at different points of entry and were not permitted to enter the country.
