Arsenal and Real Madrid Stunned as Liverpool is held by Man City

Liverpool's hopes of returning to the Premier League summit were frustrated as they fought out a high-quality draw at Manchester City, while both Arsenal and Real Madrid suffered unexpected defeat on Sunday.  Manchester City were left to rue Kevin De Bruyne's missed penalty as Liverpool escaped from the Etihad Stadium with a point for the first time in four seasons after a 1-1 draw. A flying start from the Reds was rewarded with Mohamed Salah's 13th minute penalty, but Gabriel Jesus leveled for Pep Guardiola's men before De Bruyne failed to hit the target from the spot three minutes before halftime. A share of the points between the sides that have combined to win the title for the past three seasons leaves Liverpool in third just a point off the top, while City sit five...

Harry Kane scored his 200th Tottenham Hotspur goal in just his 300th game for the club in their Europa League clash at Ludogorets on Thursday evening. The England captain, who scored his first goal for the club back in 2011 against Shamrock Rovers, had to wait nine years to complete his double century. It came in the same competition as he put the visitors 1-0 up in their Europa League clash in Bulgaria with a well-placed header from a corner. Lucas Moura got on the scoresheet just after the half hour mark to give Spurs a 2-0 lead. Kane becomes the third Spurs player to reach the landmark and is behind only Bobby Smith and Jimmy Greaves in the club’s record scorers list. Kane, 27, is now officially more prolific than Premier League legends Thierry Henry, A...

AC Milan's Rade Krunic, Brahim Diaz and Jens Petter Hauge netted in a 3-1 win at Celtic in their Europa League Group H opener on Thursday but the Italians had to withstand a late barrage from the Scottish champions to secure the three points. Krunic opened the scoring when he outjumped defender Stephen Welsh to head home Samuel Castillejo's cross in the 14th minute and although Celtic had some decent passages of play, it was the visitors who created the better chances. Milan went two up when Zlatan Ibrahimovic stretched the Celtic defence with a ball down the left to Theo Hernandez, and his pass found Brahim Diaz, who fired across goalkeeper Vasilios Barkas into the corner of the net just before halftime. Celtic sent on Mohamed Elyounoussi for Welsh at the break and began...

Mikel Arteta put his Arsenal squad through their paces at London Colney on Wednesday before the Gunners set off on a trip to Austria. The Gunners kick off their 2020/21 Europa League campaign away to Rapid Vienna on Thursday night, and Arteta was busy working with the likes of Thomas Partey and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at the club's Colney training centre. While Arteta has plenty of options for the trip to Vienna, one player who is not available is Mesut Ozil, who has been left out of Arsenal's Europa and Premier League squads altogether. Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Wednesday, Arteta said he was willing to shoulder the blame for not getting the best out of the playmaker, who is the club's highest-paid player. ...
