Rwanda Offers $5000 To Anyone Who Translates Bobi Wine’s COVID-19 Song

By Elite Reporter

The  President of Rwanda Paul Kagame has offered USD 5000 (about Shs18.8m) to anyone who translates People Power movement leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka  Bobi Wine’s COVID-19 Song.

Hon. Bobi Wine, who is the Kyadondo East Member of Parliament, recently released a song titled ‘Coronavirus Alert’ song, which is aimed at creating awareness amongst all people of the world and to rally them together in the fight against Coronavirus.

Bobi Wine’s song, which he sang in English with musician Nubian Li, has since gone viral all over the world and topped billboard chats.

However, being a Francophone country and one of the East African countries affected by Coronavirus,  Rwanda wants to spread Bobi Wine’s message about fighting Coronavirus, only that most Rwandans are not able to decipher the message, unless it’s translated into either French or Kinyarwanda.

We have learnt that it is for that reason that the Rwandan government has offered millions of Francs to any artiste or persons that can translate Bobi Wine’s COVID-19 Song into either French or Kinyarwanda, such that the message can spread across  the country.

Medics preparing for Coronavirus

“The bad news is that everyone is a potential victim,” Bobi Wine says in the lyrics.

“But the good news is that everyone is a potential solution.”

It should be noted  that Rwanda currently has    105 confirmed cases of COVID-19 infections.
