By Keefa Nuwahereza Geoffrey Kazinda, the former Principal Accountant of Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) has been sentenced by the Anti-Corruption court to 15 years in prison on three counts of forgery, illicit wealth, and financial loss to government. Kazinda, who was a few months ago freed from jail, after serving  8, years at Luzira Prisons  following his conviction on several charges of corruption, is set to return to jail following his recent conviction. Besides being convicted over forgery, illicit enrichment and causing financial loss to government, Kazinda was also found guilty of living a life beyond his means. URA Drags Jose Chameleone To Anticorruption Court Over Tax Evasion

By Keefa Nuwahereza The Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has dragged popular musician Joseph Mayanja aka Jose Chameleone to the Anticorruption court, over allegations of evading taxes for a vehicle he illegally imported into the country from South Sudan. According to summons seen by this website, Chameleone has been ordered to appear without fail before the Anticorruption Court in Kololo on July 30th, 2020 to answer for charges of being  in possession of unauthorized goods contrary to section 200(d) (iii) of the East African Community Customs Management Act,2004, for evading taxes worth over Shs137M.
