Security Directs Masaka Villages Chairpersons To Register Residents

Village Leaders in Greater Masaka have been directed to register all residents and visitors for easy and proper identification of people in efforts of ending the ingrowing murders.
The Masaka Deputy Resident District Commissioner (RCC) Ahmed Kateregga Musaazi says that the registration exercise has commenced and been complemented with Mayumba Kkumi and night foot patrols.
With the State Minister for Internal Affairs Gen. David Muhoozi pitching camp in the area, Kateregga is hopeful that criminals are to be cracked down.
According to reports, there are organized groups of suspects allegedly involved in the gruesome murders of some 26 people in the past one month.
This is the second time Greater Masaka is experiencing Machete wielding criminals killing people.
At least 26 people have lost their lives and 15 suspects arrested from Kyazanga, Lwengo and Masaka district are under investigations in connection to the murders, according to Police
