OPM delivers relief to Rukungiri’s River floods victims.

The Office of Uganda’s Prime Minister has delivered 10,000 Kgs of beans and 100 PCs of tarpaulins as relief to Bwambara Sub County residents.
This was revealed by Stephen Bewayo Nsubuga the Rukungiri Resident District commissioner stressing that the arrangements are being made to deliver them to the intended beneficiaries.
“This afternoon, the OPM delivered 20,000kgs of maize flour, 10,000kgs of beans and 100 PCs of tarpaulins at the district HQs for the people who were affected by the heavy floods that burst River Rushaya in Bwambara Sub county- Rukungiri. Arrangements are being made to deliver the relief items to the intended beneficiaries” Bewayo said on Thursday.
It should be remembered that River Rushaya in Bwambara Sub County burst its banks on Saturday April 29th, 2023 in Kagorogoro village, Bwambara parish, Bwambara Sub County at about 2pm sweeping away 3 people as well as ravaging gardens and homes along its banks.
The victims of the fatal flooding incident were identified by the police spokesman for Kigezi region ASP Elly Maate as Edson Ngabirano 30, Bonny Kyabasasa 64 and One Kabare all casual workers and residents of the same village.
