Mukono veterinary officer chops off his head due covid 19

Mukono veterinary doctor committed suicide by cutting off his own head with a knife, at the scene we found the body lying in the pool of blood, tablets, food and some medical equipment on the table table.

Hannington Mirimu 48 a popular veterinary officer in Mukono municipality, took his own life because he had just lost his wife due to covid-19 last week,  

“Ever since Dr. Mirimu lost his wife to covid-19 he has been depressed to the extent of calling some of his relatives telling them that he is going to end his life” said one of the residents. 

The defense secretary of Mulago Village Godfrey Mugaiga said that he saw Dr. Mirimu in the morning moving around the area he was in good condition.

“In morning we saw him around it shocked me after a few minutes to hear that Dr. Mirimu has committed suicide.

Before ending his life he sent his son to the shop to bring him something, then he closed the door and cut his neck, revealing the neighbors.

The Mulago village chairman Moraita Lwanga, expressed dissatisfaction with Mukono police and covid 19 team for delaying picking the body.

“Police have totally contributed to the spread of this disease. I called them earlier. It’s now four hours of waiting, the residents have converged here which can lead to spread of the disease” said chairman.

The chairman added that Mukono police refused to go at scene saying that they didn’t have any medical personnel on their team and the deceased was covid 19 positive.

After long hours of waiting, the  Mukono covid 19 team, came and disenfected the body and handed it to the family for the burial and the neighboring Ntawo Village.
