Sadness and grief engulfed parents and relatives of a Nalugemwa Shannel 2 years old who was knocked dead by a Seeta Kindergarten speeding school bus registration number UAX 458 E. The sad incident occurred yesterday at Gulama village, Goma division at 1.pm while the driver of the bus only identified as Waswa was dropping kids to their respective homes.
According to eyewitness Kozala Abbas, the kid was playing in the compound next to the road and she was knocked, after knocking the innocent girl, the driver went to Seeta police station and reported that he had found a girl knocked dead on the way.
The vehicle has been seen hidden inside the perimeters of Seeta Kindergarten Nabuti campus in Mukono central division, no one was allowed to enter the school premises including the parents who were demanding justice. Kawuda Agira, the mother to the innocent soul, said that when she was at work that we’re she got the news of the demise of her child, Kawuda expressed distress over the school’s wild reaction towards the death of her child.
“I Am here at the school but security has stopped me from entering the school to see the management, the only thing they did to me is depositing Shs. 500000 on my phone and ordered me to vacate the school gate”, said Kawuda.Ronald Kiggundu, a relative of the late, was disappointed with some Seeta police officers who were discouraging them to drop the case because they cannot handle the case against minister Chrizestom Muyingo the proprietor of the school.
The area councillor Hajji. Lukeman Segayi the way Mukono traffic police does its work, because it’s a full day but they have not investigated the matter, not even going to the scene.
“As leader I have been calling Seeta traffic police to investigate the matter but they have not come since yesterday” , Segayi noted.
According to the officer-in-charge of traffic at Seeta Police station, Mr. Robert Onzima, the girl was knocked but are delayed due to the contradictory statements made by the witnesses.
” We are also confused with the statements that are contradictory but we have taken over the case and as of now I am going to Seeta kindergarten to confirm whether it’s the exact but they reported because the school has a number of buses”, Said Onzima.
The school management refused to talk to us as security denied us a chance to enter the school campus.
