Fire has gutted Grace House, a girls dormitory, leaving all students properties worth millions in ashes. The cause of the fire is yet to be known.
According to sources no deaths have been registered in the inferno because all the students had gone to attend their morning classes.
According to Luke Owoyesigyire, Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, the fire started at around 7am from a building housing senior one and three students while students were attending morning preps.
“The Police Fire and rescue services have responded to a fire outbreak break at King’s college Budo today in the morning. So far, fire and rescue services have managed to contain the fire from spreading any further,” Owoyesigyire said in a statement.
It should be noted that fire gutted Buddo junior, a sister school to Kings college, and it’s one of the most memorable and tragic moments of 2008, over 20 pupils perished as they slept in their beds. Ever since the incident occurred there is no clear report on the deaths of innocent souls.
