India Announces Online University Scholarships For Ugandan Students

The government of India in collaboration with several Universities, has availed Ugandan students an opportunity apply for scholarships to study  various online courses, which they will undertake through ilearn.

This is a great opportunity for students from select countries in Africa,  who would be interested to apply for 100% scholarship who are interested in pursuing  several functional and sectoral specialties in their  MBA.

It should be noted that during his visit to Uganda in 2018, India Prime Minister H. E Narendra Modi reiterated India’s willingness to partner with the governments of Africa to foster education throughout the African continent through the digital revolution.

“We will harness India’s experience with digital revolution to support Africa’s development… extend education,” Prime Minister Modi said.

During the 3rd India-Africa Forum Summit held in New Delhi in October 2015, the Government of India announced a technological upgradation and extension of Pan African e-Network Project (PAeNP) to African countries; wherein the technologically upgraded version of PAeNP was envisaged to offer both tele-education and tele-medicine services from India to Africa; following which, it was decided to rename PAeNP as e-VidyaBharati and e-AarogyaBharati (e-VBAB) Network Project

Recently, Telecommunications Consultants India Ltd. (TCIL) signed an agreement with Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) for the implementation of e-VBAB (e-VidyaBharati and e-AarogyaBharati) Network Project (pan Africa e-Network project).

 The e-VBAB Project is fully funded by MEA, Government of India.

The Indian Education (VidyaBharati) and Indian Medical services for human wellbeing (AarogyaBharati) under the flagship e-VBAB Network Project of MEA, is a step towards capacity building in the field of education and medical science for all the 54 African Nations.

The project aims to provide an opportunity for local employment and opens the door for access to education and medical expertise from India to African students, doctors, nurses and paramedical staff.

It will also give an opportunity for Global acceptance of Indian University Education system and Indian medical health services.

Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, said Pune is one of the first universities to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with telecommunications consultants India Limited which was signed on 27th February, officially paving way for long term and short term courses to be offered on  http://ilearn.gov.in/

Selection of universities is on the basis of approval granted by UGC for offering online program Untitled Page. The selected universities/institutions will upload their approved program on ilearn .

Students can pursue Certificate and Degree Programs of their area of interest by registering on  ilearn Ministry of external affairs, Government  of India.
