Entebbe Airport has noted passenger increase in last month .

Entebbe International Airport has experienced a notable increase in passenger traffic, according to the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA). In April 2023, the airport welcomed a total of 127,283 passengers, averaging around 4,242 passengers per day.
This figure represents a growth compared to April 2022, which saw 122,341 passengers, averaging around 4,078 passengers per day.
Vianney M. Luggya, the UCAA Spokesman, provided additional insights into the airport’s performance. He revealed that there were 62,413 arrivals and 64,870 departures at Entebbe International Airport during April 2023. Furthermore, the airport handled 1,124 metric tons of imports and 2,794 metric tons of exports.
It is worth noting that Entebbe International Airport has witnessed a significant recovery in its operations since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
In 2022, the airport facilitated a total of 1,574,405 international passengers for both arrivals and departures. This marked a substantial increase compared to the previous years, with 941,688 passengers in 2021, 565,541 passengers in 2020, and 1,802,107 passengers in 2019.
These statistics highlight the positive trajectory of the aviation industry, particularly at Entebbe International Airport, as it gradually recovers from the adverse effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
