A man in Mitooma has been burnt to death by an angry mob for stealing a bunch of banana.
The deceased is Hanningtion Turyasingura, was a resident of Ryengyerero C in Mitooma district. Turyasingura was ready handedly caught stealing a bunch of banana from the Garden of Geresum Namara.
The suspects are Geresum Namara, Wilber Nuwagaba, Miriam Kyomugisha, Tumuhimbitse Dimyano, Peron and other 3 known by their appearances.
It’s alleged that on March 12th, 2023 at around 11:30pm, the suspects found the deceased stealing a bunch of banana from the garden of Namara Geresum (suspect) and they assaulted the deceased by beating him using a plastic Jerrycan near the home of Namara and he died shortly after the assault.
Greater Bushenyi police spokesperson SP Martial Tumusiime confirmed the incident stressing that the report was reported at police vide SD REF: 04/13/03/2023 and subsequently Mitooma CRB: 155/2023.
