Police in Gomba District have confirmed that 3 students of Kasaka Senior Secondary School have been killed and 18 others were seriously injured after a truck lost control and rammed into the school’s computer laboratory.
The Uganda Traffic Police Spokesperson, Faridah Nampiima, has identified the deceased students as Evelyn Namagembe (S.5), Mawanda Bosco (S.2) and Asege Hilda, of Senior 4.
Nampiima said that the incident took place today as a result of the driver identified as Abudalla Wanume of a Sino truck registration number UBL 790J, lost control and run into into Kasaka Senior Secondary School in Gomba District.
She added that it’s alleged that when the driver lost control, the truck rammed into the school fence, and then proceeded through to the school computer laboratory that was occupied by students, killing three students on the spot and injuring another.
Nampiima said that the truck driver has been arrested and will be charged accordingly.
