Andrew Ojok declared winner of Omoro county by-election.

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag bearer in Omoro county, Andrew Ojok has been declared the winner in the by-election.

Ojok replaces his father the late speaker Jacob Oulanyah who passed on March 20, 2022, in Seattle, Washington, United States, barely a year after being voted Speaker of the 11th Parliament.

According to the results announced by Omoro district returning officer, Moses Kagona, the NRM candidate, Andrew Ojok Oulanyah, garnered 14,224 votes, while his closest contender, Simon Toolit Akecha, of National Unity Platform Party (NUP), got 1,633 votes.

FDC’s Odong Justine polled 529 votes, Terrence Odon got 532 votes, Jimmy Walter Onen got 95 votes, while Oscar Kiiza, of Alliance for National Transformation party (ANT), polled only 63 votes.
