Horror as police officer loses bet , commits suicide.
Police in Mukono is investigating it’s officer who committed suicide by hanging after allegedly losing a suspect’s Shs800,000 in betting who has been attached to Kisoga police station.
The deceased has been identified as Constable Sadiq Hussein Baguma. He was found hanging in his house in Namanve barracks.
According to police, although the deceased told relatives the money had been robbed from him, it is suspected he lost it in betting.
The deceased had earlier on March 4, 2024, received about Shs800,000 and other belongings for a suspect but didn’t hand them over,” said Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire.
Owoyesigyire said after losing the money, the officer asked his relatives to help him fundraise the money he had lost.
