The government of Uganda has lifted ban on concerts.

The government of Ugandan has eased restrictions on the arts and culture sector which were imposed in March 2020 to control the spread of coronavirus

According to reports, with strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), concerts, theatres and other events in the arts can now happen between 7am and 7pm.

The news comes a day after Nigerian artists Omah Lay and Tems were released from jail following their arrest for performing at a music show over the weekend.

Their arrest sparked off a bitter debate with Ugandan artists faulting authorities for displaying what they called double standards.
