Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) has released the 2020 TOTAL African Nations Championship (CHAN) championship dates. Uganda Cranes opens up against Rwanda on 18th January 2021 at the Stade de Unification in Douala in a group C duel. By Elite Reporter Zimbabwe has been barred from hosting any international matches until further notice after its main stadiums failed to meet required standards. Zimbabwe's Football Association (FA) (Zifa) says the Confederation of African Football (CAF) took the decision after inspecting stadiums in November and finding them below FIFA standards. It means that Zimbabwe's key 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Algeria next month will have to be played in a neutral venue. The report by audit firm Price Waterhouse Cooper (PWC), was highly critical of how the organisation’s finances had been mismanaged. The report cites some 40 payments totaling USD10m. It says 14 of those payments amounting to USD4.6m had irregular or no supporting documentation. The investigation started when FIFA took over management of CAF last year following a string of corruption scandals. By Elite Reporter The Confederation of African Football associations (CAF) Executive Committee has voted not to renew the mandate of FIFA's secretary general Fatma Samoura, who had been working as General Delegate for Africa for the past six months. Samoura was given the role from 1 August 2019 by football's world body following a reported request by CAF. FIFA confirmed that Samoura's mandate had come to an end on 1 February 2020 and that the global body's six-month mission in Africa had been "completed successfully."
