Sad News As Ex-Mulago Hosp. Boss Breathes His Last

Grief has gripped medics at St. Francis Nsambya Hospital and the fraternity of Mulago Referral Hospital after their former boss Dr. Edward Ddumba passed away on Saturday morning.

Dr Ddumba,  the former Mulago hospital Executive Director, passed away after losing a longtime battle to cancer, according to family members.

Prior to his death Dr Ddumba served as Mulago hospital Executive Director between 2006 and 2010, from where he was posted to Nsambya Hospital.

“It is with sadness that I inform you of the death of our dear member – Rtn. Dr. Edward Ddumba, which occurred at about 1.30 Am this morning. Kitalo nnyo. Kitalo ddala. Details of the burial arrangements shall be shared further this morning,” a message from a close family member who preferred anonymity reads.

It should be noted that Dr Ddumba previously served as the Head of the Department of Internal Medicine at Mulago National Referral Hospital, although he was also a member of the Teaching Staff of the Department of Medicine at Makerere University College of Heath Sciences for over 20 years.

He was also a neurologist and senior consultant physician. He was a senior medical expert and consultant of Uganda Sickle Cell Rescue Fund in Uganda.
