Arrived in Arusha, Tanzania for the Heads of State meeting on the progress of the EAC common market protocol and the EAC ordinary summit respectively.
While discussing the progress and challenges of the EAC Common Market Protocol during today’s High-Level retreat in Arusha, I emphasised that integrating markets is our best way to survive. The USA for instance is rich and powerful because of its market size.
I am happy that the private sector is joining the advocacy for integration, countries like Germany were unified by business groups. We have learnt our lessons through the COVID Pandemic, and the Russia-Ukraine crisis. East Africa must wake up.”
