The e – SIM, short for Embedded SIM, is a revolutionary virtual SIM card that
empowers users to seamlessly connect to their mobile service provider without the
need for a physical SIM card. This digital marvel is remotely programmed via

tablets, smartwatches, and even vehicles. With MTN Uganda's e-SIM technology,

How to get an MTN Uganda e-Sim
• Simply dial *#06# to confirm if your phone supports e-Sim. If it does, it will
display an EID Number.
• Once the EID Number is displayed, visit an MTN Service Center near you with
an Original National ID to get an e-Sim.
• The Customer service agent will guide you through the current/normal swap
process where your biometric details and photos will be captured.
• A QR code will be generated for you to scan and you will have the E sim
activated on your phone.
